Hot Water Cylinders

A vented cylinder works with a cold water tank in the loft and relies on gravity for water pressure. An unvented cylinder connects directly to the mains, giving you much better pressure throughout the house. Unvented systems are now the more popular choice for new installations, particularly in homes where good shower pressure matters.

A well-maintained hot water cylinder typically lasts between 15 and 25 years. If yours is getting noisy, struggling to keep water hot, or you are noticing a drop in pressure, it may be time to look at a replacement.

The cost depends on the cylinder size, the type (vented or unvented), and the complexity of the installation. As a rough guide, a replacement unvented cylinder including labour typically starts from around £1,200. We will give you a fixed price before any work starts.

A straightforward cylinder swap usually takes a day. If additional pipework or controls need updating, it may take a little longer. We will let you know at the quoting stage.
